Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the DT curriculum,
• Foster outstanding teaching practices, integrating creative, technical, and industry-relevant skills.
• Oversee student progress, using data to inform intervention strategies and curriculum development..
• Ensure quality assurance through lesson observations, data tracking, and departmental planning.
• Contribute to the school’s strategic vision and improvement plans, promoting collaboration across subjects.
• Support SLT in preparing for inspections and delivering professional development in DT.

Successful candidates will:

• Hold a Bachelor of Education, a bachelor’s degree in design technology or equivalent with PGCE / PGDE 
• Have proven experience teaching Design Technology up to GCSE/A Level.
• Demonstrate exemplary teaching practice and a passion for continuous improvement
• Bring a creative and enthusiastic approach to both classroom and wider school life
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work closely with colleagues, students, and parents
• Have a proven track record of delivering outstanding learning and teaching
• Be eager to make a positive contribution to our school community through active engagement in extra-curricular and community-based initiatives
