GEMS Royal Dubai school is currently looking to recruit a Student Counsellor to start September 2024. We are open to considering part time applications for this role
Job Purpose:
To provide comprehensive support services to students to create a safe and supportive school environment that promotes student success and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, career, social, and emotional issues.
Develop and implement effective counseling programs that support student development.
Address and resolve student conflicts and crises, providing immediate support as needed.
Assist students in setting academic goals and developing plans to achieve them.
Monitor student academic progress and provide interventions as necessary.
Collaborate with teachers to identify and support students with academic challenges.
Provide career exploration and planning services to students.
Assist students in understanding the relationship between school and future career opportunities.
Organize and facilitate career workshops, job shadowing, and college visits.
Promote a positive school climate through programs and activities that enhance students' social and emotional skills.
Implement and oversee anti-bullying and conflict resolution programs.
Provide support for students dealing with personal or family issues, referring them to external resources when necessary.
Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student needs.
Participate in school committees and contribute to the development of school policies.
Conduct parent workshops and provide resources to help parents support their child's development.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
Prepare and submit reports on student progress, behavior, and counseling activities.
Ensure compliance with all school policies and legal requirements related to student counseling.
المهارات
The successful candidate will have:
A Bachelors/ Masters degree in School counselling or Psychology is essential.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of counselling theories and practices
Prior experience of working in education industry preferred
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Proficiency in using counselling and education software.
