WSF - Conveniently positioned in the heart of the Fujairah city, GEMS Winchester School Fujairah, is the newest additional to GEMS English schools and invites you to join us on our journey of learning! GEMS Winchester School Fujairah is an international UK curriculum school, providing students in the Fujairah with the high standard of education that GEMS Education embodies.
About the Role

GEMS Winchester School, Fujairah is in just its second year and currently caters for students from KG1 - G9, extending its grades each year so that by 2020 it will have students up to G12. WSF offers the internationally recognized National Curriculum for England and prepares students to take the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) courses.

About Your Benefits

This is a key appointment to support the School as its secondary section has grown significantly. The successful candidate will:

 • Work closely with the Principal/CEO, to provide high quality strategic and operational leadership to the Secondary School, ensuring continuous improvement is achieved as the school continues the journey towards outstanding
• lead the Secondary school in all its functions including learning and teaching, curriculum, assessment, safeguarding, policies, behavior management and CPD needs
• inspire, motivate and influence staff and pupils, taking a leading role in maintaining the highest standards of learning and teaching and behavior management
• line manage effectively all secondary staff including HoDs
• quality assure standards across the Secondary School, in collaboration with other senior leaders
• develop the Secondary School curriculum to ensure WSF students have the best possible provision
• develop assessment processes within the Secondary school, securing positive student outcomes
• lead across the school as a member of the SLT in all WSF events, functions and activities
• play a significant role in setting aims and objectives for the school and in formulating the School Improvement and Development Plan along with the Principal/CEO and other senior staff
• provide an excellent role model for all members of staff and for pupils in all aspects of school life

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic senior or middle management leader who is self-motivated, highly committed to quality first education and loves working with children. He/she will have at least two years of leadership experience and will possess the following excellent skills, qualities and attributes:

• High profile leadership, commanding loyalty and respect and always leading by example
• strategic planning and decision-making, with some experience of project management in school
• team motivation, leadership and resource management, being a team player both within the department and across phases
• experience of the National Curriculum for England
• creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom
• excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills able to work closely with stakeholders
• effective communication skills, fluent in spoken and written English
• experience in employee relations
• efficient in processes and systems, with problem solving skills
• understanding of the UAE Vision and agenda for education, in particular the drive to raise standards in Emirati students
• able to deliver quality results in a timely manner
• reflective practitioner
• positive, can-do attitude
• change management experience in schools
