Responsible for GEMS MENASA corporate category sourcing and strategy. Delivering savings across the corporate functions in Group corporate offices.
Delivering end to end solutions for procurement of managed categories, but is not responsible for management of contracts or vendor relationships.
Ensures best price is negotiated and obtained for major projects, specifically prepares requests for proposal, negotiates, selects and identifies most appropriate suppliers (Price, quality, conditions….) in collaboration with requesting department. Works with legal to finalise contracts.
Define GEMS MENASA category strategy, setting performance objectives and monitoring progress.
Also actively engaging with and securing support from key local stakeholders (Finance, HR etc.)
Ensures market intelligence is updated regularly and ensures that any changes are updated in the category strategy and appropriate steps are taken to mitigate any potential impact that this information may have to the organisation.
Ensure that GEMS MENASA category management is aligned with GEMS MENASA corporate strategies in co-operation with business planning and strategy and delivers results to the bottom line.
MBA degree, MCIPS.
5+ years’ experience in a similar or larger organisation.
Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:
English with Arabic desirable.
Comfortable working with and supporting high level stakeholders.
Ability to convey the value add message of Procurement.
Can operate in a matrix driven structure, able to support cross functional projects
Ability to get involved as needed to offer support in GEMS MENASA business operations.
First class communicator (verbal and written) and strong negotiator, who can effectively manage relationships that are widely dispersed.
