Develop and execute strategic communications plans to support GEMS Education’s Business strategy in MENASA in order to promote the corporate brand, all GEMS Schools and Business Units.

Development and implementation of the English and Arabic GEMS corporate Brand communications strategy in order to meet corporate objectives
Development and implementation of focus school communications strategies in order to meet corporate objectives
Identify proactive English and Arabic media opportunities for GEMS Corporate, GEMS Programmes, GEMS Schools, GEMS People and GEMS students; and obtain English and Arabic media coverage locally and internationally
Work with Marcomm coordinators in schools to come up with strategies to showcase schools, school events and students within the media.
Providing guidance and support to Marcomm coordinators on communications related issues
Lead Local PR strategy for Global Education and Skills forum and Global Teacher Prize
Ensure that quality of school communications are of a high standards and regularly audited
Oversee development of school communications framework and accountability.
Photography and Video asset management
Ensure video and image resources for schools and corporate are of high quality and in line with company brand and objectives
Draft white papers, press releases, speeches and talking points as required for corporate and school releases.
Prepare reactive statements for issues that need to be managed (as an when they arise)
Management of corporate events (includes logistical organization and implementation)
Management and support of VIP school events (includes logistical organization and implementation)
GEMS Representative on the planning / organizing committee for Global Education and Skills forum and Global Teacher Prize
Support in development and management of an internal employee communication plan and ensure its effective implementation across all business units and geographic areas so that existing and new staff are properly inducted and galvanized around the GEMS brand and the business strategy.
Manage and develop communication tools to communicate with our Parents in an effective manner
(GEMS Family Magazine, etc)Expected Qualifications:
Accomplished, polished and results driven media professional
3+ years Senior level @ BBC, CNN or other major news organization and/or
3+ years Senior level in well regarded PR agency and/or
Senior level communications person for political campaign/party
Has excellent relationships with influential regional and global media
Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:
• High level of written English with ability to write: press releases, features, speeches and white papers.
• Excellent presentation skills - especially to senior stakeholders.
