About the School

Wesgreen International School was founded in 1991 in Sharjah, and in the years since it has grown to become one of the most successful schools in the area. The School has been advancing excellence in education for more than two decades and has been recognized by the Council of International Schools as an accredited school.

The school will have a focus on high academic standards, computational thinking, social and emotional Education as well as inclusivity to allow all students to succeed through a range of academic and vocational pathways.

The School is divided into four separate sections. The Early Years School from Nursery to Grade 1 is based at the Al Qarain Campus. The Primary School accommodates students from Grade 2 to Grade 4. At the end of Grade 4, students move to either the Boys’ or Girls’ Secondary School. The Boys' and Girls' Secondary Schools cater for Grade 5 to Grade 13. The Administration Department is housed on the Secondary Boys’ Campus.

A teacher is expected to do the following:
Learning Environment
 Establish a positive, safe learning climate and ensure high standards of achievement and behaviour within all teaching groups by setting down clear guidance for students including the careful presentation of work and the care of books and equipment.
 Establish high levels of expectation as a member of a team by setting down clear guidance for students for establishing good standards of achievement.
 Actively promote the School’s priorities to raise student achievement, improving teaching and learning through rigorous monitoring and quality assurance, develop Personalised Learning, and strengthen Assessment for Learning and student’s independent learning skills.
 Promote the School’s International Ethos of Respect for Self, Respect for Others and Respect for the Environment.

About Your Benefits
Curriculum
 To maintain the highest quality possible of teaching and learning in the subject in accordance with School policies and the guidelines of the external examination boards.
 Develop students’ subject-based knowledge, skills and understanding alongside their capacity to learn, literacy and numeracy skills and responsible citizenship and employability.
 Plan and deliver programmes of study and lessons which address the elements of the curriculum, skill and knowledge development, capabilities and aspirations, business and ICT.
 Work with colleagues in the department or key stage to continuously develop the curriculum by selecting, designing and evaluating schemes of work and methods of teaching/learning within those areas agreed with Headmaster.
 Set homework which challenges each student. Monitor the completion of homework and follow up students who do not complete homework.
 Provide guidance which supports learning through structured revision and study skills.
