To ensure accurate accounting of all school’s financial and asset transactions while maintaining a friendly, professional presence. Make sure that accounting practices meet the highest standard as expected by the School’s financial auditors and compliance with external auditors
-Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
-Receive, receipt and account for all school tuition/fee payments; and to accurately report this information to parents, administrators and GEMS Corporate Office where applicable. Alert school administration of default tuition payments and unpaid accounts.
-Maintain accurate records and reconciliation of all accounts to ensure compliance with internal and external audit processes.
-Prepare and distribute monthly personnel payroll and hold for request all vendor service payments.
-Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
-Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day, where the tasks require additional commitment.
-Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
-Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers / supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in Commerce / Accounting
A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar Accounting position
Fluent English and Arabic Communications skills
