We are looking for a passionate School Counselor to join our dynamic team at GEMS Metropole School. The successful candidate will be an experienced Counselor who is excited to join our world class school that is driven to support education at an exceptional level.

Qualification required: Bachelor's degree in Psychology (full time course) or equivalent. Preference given to Master's degree in  Psychology.

Experience required: Not less than 2 years of experience , preference given to candidate's with experience in similar role at schools in UAE.

About the role : In the capacity of School Counselor, you have the responsibility for designing and implementing a counseling programme that meets the requirements of the school and students and enable students to achieve success in all aspects of their life.

Responsibilities as below but are not limited to : 

1. Design and implement a counseling program aligned with the International School Counselor Association standards. 
2. Provide support for students concerning academic, social-emotional and personal concerns.
3. Assist students with the career exploration process. 
4. Meet with parents or consult with external parties, such as child protective services or other social service agencies.
5. Interact and consult with school administration, teachers, school staff, parents, students, and external stakeholders.
6. Adhere to Child Safe guarding policies and procedures as specified by school and regulatory authorities.

Students from our Foundation Stage classes have access to attractive indoor and outdoor learning areas to explore and investigate, high quality Information Technology provision and Science provision to develop IT and Science-based literacy, and most recently a language hub to support key language skills across school.

In the Primary section, with the use of 1:1 technologies, students and teachers use iPads and interactive whiteboards to enhance learning opportunities where appropriate. The Secondary school continues to develop and grow and has seen the LEAD and skills programme blossom supporting students to make informed decisions and develop their learning and leadership skills. A new focus of personalised pathways is supporting students in their preparation for life after school and their journey towards success. In conclusion, GEMS Metropole School is a member of the British Schools of the Middle East (BSME) with the School Principal as a BSME Country Rep.
