About the Role

We are looking for an outstanding Secondary/College and Career Counselor to join our existing team from August 2023

This position is to guide and counsel students through the IB programs and towards further studies and careers after school.

The College Counselor will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Counsel students in SEL needs including school life balance
  • Guide in course selection to support students’ college and career aspirations
  • Collaborate with the IB Team, ensuring best practice as a professional learning community and provides purposeful leadership of university guidance
  • Be up to date with and respond to current research about university admissions procedures, programs, and outcomes
  • Engage with all students, to build a purposeful academic and personal profile of each individual student
  • Deliver workshops to students, teachers, parents on college application process completion, and submission of applications
  • Analyze and evaluate, with the IB Team, student performance data and take appropriate action in support of effective university guidance
  • Ensure that students have an active and engaged role in developing their university choices.
  • Schedule and host college representative fairs and presentations
  • Write letters of recommendations for student applications

Required Qualifications

  • Degree certification in addition to a certified teaching qualification, such as a valid US Teaching/Counseling certificate or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 Years of experience as College Career Counselor in International school setting
  • Good understanding of IB courses. Should have actively handled roles in IB requirement & Events
  • Must have experience in counseling for IB exams
