About the role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Head Teacher to join our school leadership team. You will play a key role in driving academic standards across The Sixth Form and contribute towards teaching and learning throughout the secondary school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of teachers in The Sixth Form, setting high expectations and providing effective support and guidance
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for teaching and learning specifically for The Sixth Form
- Take overall responsibility for the monitoring of data in The Sixth Form, using it to track and set targets for students’ successes
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in The Sixth Form, ensuring that all students are making good progress
- Oversee the Sixth Form’s wider-curriculum, ensuring that it is challenging, engaging and meets the needs of all students
- Contribute towards the school's self-evaluation process and identify areas for improvement within The Sixth Form
- Play a key role in the professional development of staff within The Sixth Form
- Work closely with the Headteacher and other senior leaders to set the strategic direction of the school, particularly in relation to The Sixth Form

Person Specification:
- A well-qualified teacher with a proven track record of success in a leadership role
- Experience of teaching Post-16 students
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- The ability to develop and implement a strategic vision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to raising standards and improving the life-chances of all students
- A Master's degree in a relevant subject (desirable)
- National Professional Qualification (NPQ) for leadership (desirable)
