Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Design & Technology Educational Assistant to join our dedicated team with an immediate start.
This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about DET and is eager to contribute to the academic success of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Climate Leadership:
- Contribute positively to the DET department culture, supporting innovation and creativity
- Provide encouragement and technical assistance to students in lessons and projects
Technical Support & Learning:
- Assist with preparation, setup, and maintenance of DET workshops and labs
- Support students and teachers with 3D printers, CNC router, laser cutter, and other equipment (DATA training will be provided)
- Help maintain safe working practices and ensure tools, machines, and materials are organized and ready for use
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues with equipment and software
Administrative Support
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and organization of materials and consumables
- Support the Department with project logistics, displays of student work, and departmental events
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of workshop and classroom spaces
Other Duties
- Be flexible and proactive in supporting the evolving needs of the DET department
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head of Department
Skills
Successful candidate will need:
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience within a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of DET and hands-on experience.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
