Job Description
Job Purpose:
To assist in the promotion, direction and oversight of high standards of teaching and learning, student achievement and progression through effective inclusion for students with special educational needs Gifted and Talented students and students receiving counselling support. Ensuring inclusive practice is developed and incorporated through all aspects of the school and adhering to the KHDA and UAE law and requirements of Inclusive Education.
Key duties
- Manage the Inclusion Department.
- Implementing an Inclusion ethos on a whole school level with support from SLT.
- Manage the professional development of staff in pedagogical best practice, in conjunction with the SLT.
- Work with the Safeguarding Officer.
- Manage the identification and intervention support of additional learning needs.
- Strategic direction and development of learning support.
- Maintain high Standards of teaching and learning throughout the school, in particular reference to learning support.
- Leading and managing staff in best practice and fulfilling the development plan of the school.
- Maintain SEND register accordingly to KHDA requirements.
- Monitor students with Medication and Health Needs as outlined by the KHDA framework.
- Manage Pastoral Leaders implementation of Gifted and Talented program (Futures Program)
Skills
The successful candidate should have:
- Bachelors and master's in psychology and special education.
- At least 4 years of experience with Special Educational Needs.
- Skills acquisition of behavior analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with pupils and adults.
- The ability to manage confrontation and challenging behavior.
- Team working and organizational skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to be able to respond to the needs of the pupils and change plan accordingly.
- A positive, energetic and enthusiastic outlook.
