Job Purpose
The Head of Middle School provides academic, operational, and pastoral leadership for Grades VI–VIII, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning aligned with CBSE requirements, KHDA regulations, and the school’s vision. The role focuses on student achievement, staff development, curriculum implementation, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
Provide strategic leadership to ensure effective implementation of the CBSE curriculum, maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment. Monitor student performance data and drive continuous academic improvement aligned with CBSE and KHDA expectations.
Staff Management & Development
Lead, mentor, and appraise middle school staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth. Support continuous improvement through coaching, classroom observations, and targeted professional development.
Student Wellbeing & Discipline
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that promotes positive behavior, student wellbeing, and social-emotional development. Implement effective pastoral care, safeguarding, and discipline systems in line with school and UAE regulations.
Operations & Administration
Oversee the smooth day-to-day operations of the middle school, including timetabling, assessments, and academic reporting. Ensure compliance with school policies, CBSE guidelines, and KHDA requirements.
Parent & Community Engagement
Build strong partnerships with parents through transparent communication and meaningful engagement. Represent the middle school in school-wide initiatives, meetings, and community events to strengthen trust and collaboration.
Skills
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
-
Master’s Degree in Education or relevant subject (B.Ed mandatory).

Minimum 8–10 years of teaching experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.

Strong knowledge of the CBSE curriculum and assessment framework.

Experience working in CBSE schools in the UAE or similar international contexts preferred.

Familiarity with KHDA inspection standards and UAE educational regulations.

Leadership certification or postgraduate qualification in educational leadership.

Experience in school improvement planning and data-driven decision-making.
