We are seeking to recruit a Head of Science available to join us for October 2026. This is due to our continued growth and success here at GEMS Founders School – Dubai South.

Our Science Department combines high-quality teaching with exceptional facilities, including state-of-the-art laboratories that enable students to engage in authentic, hands-on investigation. We offer Double and Triple Science pathways, providing rigorous preparation for advanced study. A unique strength of our department is the rich integration of aerospace and space science across the curriculum—links reinforced by our memorable visit from a NASA astronaut. These connections inspire students to see science not as isolated theories, but as the driving force behind human exploration and innovation.

Our Secondary School is a rapidly growing and highly popular phase. It is distinguished by a commitment to excellence across academics, facilities, and staff development. GEMS Founders School – Dubai South is one of the newest addition’s to the successful GEMS Founders family. We opened our doors in 2024 as a British curriculum school delivering the National Curriculum for England. The school offers education from Foundation Stage through Key Stage 4, and we are growing in scope year-on-year towards becoming a full FS1–Year 13 by 2029. What we are looking for: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, or equivalent with a recognized Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experienced Science Teacher with proven experience leading a team/ department. 
• Confidence working collaboratively with SLT and other departments. 
• Experience teaching within a secondary school setting in the UAE is preferred, with a strong understanding of the National Curriculum for England and examination specifications.
• Experience delivering high-quality lessons across GCSE and A Level programmes.
• Strong subject knowledge & passion for Science.
