Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Middle School Social Studies Teacher to join our CBSE school in Dubai. The ideal candidate will foster critical thinking, global awareness, historical understanding, and civic responsibility among students in Grades 6–8 through engaging and student-centered learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Social Studies lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum.
- Teach topics including History, Geography, Civics, Economics, and Global Perspectives for middle school students.
- Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages inquiry-based learning and discussion.
- Develop lesson plans, assessments, projects, and learning materials in line with school academic standards.
- Integrate technology and interactive teaching methodologies into classroom instruction.
- Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative evaluations.
- Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and behavior.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student progress reports.
- Participate in curriculum planning, staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
- Support students’ social and emotional development while maintaining positive classroom discipline.
- Organize educational activities such as debates, exhibitions, cultural events, field trips, and Model United Nations (MUN) initiatives where applicable.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, school leadership, and parents to support student success.
Skills
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s and Master's degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Social Studies, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in a CBSE or international school environment, preferably in the UAE.
- Strong understanding of CBSE middle school curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital learning platforms.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- UAE experience and KHDA familiarity will be an advantage.
