Music - Teacher

Job Purpose

To deliver high-quality Music teaching, ensuring effective curriculum implementation, student progress, assessment, and enrichment opportunities while developing students' musical skills, creativity, confidence, and appreciation of music.

Internal & External Interactions

Principal, Vice Principal, Head of Department, school staff, students, parents, and relevant external music providers.

Key Accountabilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
• Assess and monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Develop students' musical knowledge, performance, creativity, and confidence.
• Support school concerts, performances, competitions, assemblies, and musical events.
• Conduct and support choirs, bands, ensembles, or other musical activities.
• Maintain and safely use musical instruments, equipment, and resources.
• Identify and support students with musical talent through enrichment opportunities.
• Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with the Music Department and wider school team.

Qualifications / Knowledge

• Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification preferred.
• Good knowledge of Music curriculum, theory, performance, and practical teaching.

Skills

• Strong musical and teaching skills.
• Good English communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students.
• Good organisational and teamwork skills.

Experience

Previous experience teaching Music in a school environment. Middle East experience is an advantage.
