Position Overview

We are seeking an outstanding Physics Teacher to join our school for an immediate start, or January 2027 at the latest.

We are looking for an adaptable and nurturing practitioner with a strong understanding of Physics and the needs of young learners within a diverse international school environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and high-quality Physics lessons across the Secondary phase.

  • Develop students’ scientific understanding through practical investigation, enquiry, critical thinking and real-world application.

  • Differentiate teaching and use assessment effectively to meet individual learning needs, monitor progress and inform future planning.

  • Maintain high expectations for achievement, engagement and behaviour, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Collaborate with Science colleagues on curriculum development and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

Skills Description

Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised teaching qualification such as a B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, State Teaching Licence or equivalent.

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree in Physics or a closely related subject, meeting UAE teacher approval requirements.

  • Successful experience teaching Physics within a Secondary/High School setting.

  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging, practical and enquiry-based Physics lessons.

  • Experience teaching an international curriculum, with IB MYP and/or DP experience highly advantageous.

  • A strong understanding of assessment, differentiation and strategies to support and challenge learners of varying abilities.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration and classroom management skills.

  • A passion for Physics and for inspiring students to develop curiosity, critical thinking and scientific understanding.

  • Experience within a diverse, international school community would be advantageous.

  • Previous experience within the UAE would be advantageous but is not essential.
