Job Purpose
The Legal Studies Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Grade 11 Legal Studies, fostering students’ understanding of legal principles, systems, and civic responsibilities. The role aims to develop students’ critical thinking, analytical skills, and awareness of local and international legal frameworks, in line with UAE educational standards and the school’s ethos.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective Legal Studies lessons for Grade 11 students.

Teach core legal concepts such as constitutional law, criminal law, civil law, human rights, and legal systems (local and international).

Align lesson plans and assessments with the approved curriculum and UAE Ministry of Education requirements (where applicable).

Develop students’ critical thinking, research, debate, and case-analysis skills.

Assess, record, and report on student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment methods.

Prepare students for internal and external examinations, projects, and presentations.

Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning.

Maintain accurate academic records and contribute to student progress reports.

Promote positive classroom management and a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Support students’ moral, social, and cultural development in accordance with UAE values and traditions.

Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leadership regarding student progress and concerns.

Participate in school meetings, professional development activities, and curriculum planning.

Contribute to extracurricular activities related to legal studies, debating, or civic education when required.
Skills
Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent).
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching Legal Studies or a related subject at secondary level.
-
Experience teaching Grade 11 students is an advantage.

Familiarity with UAE MOE curriculum or international curricula is preferred.

Strong knowledge of legal concepts and contemporary legal issues.

Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
