Job Description

Purpose

The Vice President Culture of Excellence: Nurturing the Genius is responsible for promoting a culture of excellence across our schools ensuring the holistic wellbeing and development of every student, fostering a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where they can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. It aims to future-proof and prepare students for life by developing their confidence, resilience, and life skills. 

The VP Culture of Excellence: Nurturing the Genius drives innovation through strategic and visionary leadership across a wide range of services addressing individual needs including nurturing the genius, scholarships, co-curricular initiatives, centres of excellence, behaviour, attendance, wellbeing, and futures.

The role is based in GEMS Educations’ corporate office (SSC) and reports directly to the Group Chief Education Officer (CEdO). The Vice President Culture of Excellence: Nurturing the Genius works closely with the Excellence Fellows, EVPs and Brand Ambassadors who play a critical role in ensuring consistency across the group.

As a visionary leader and change agent, the Vice President Culture of Excellence: Nurturing the Genius embodies integrity and professionalism, inspiring teams through effective change management. By driving systemization and codification, the Vice President Culture of Excellence: Nurturing the Genius enhances cultural excellence, ensuring world-class outcomes for GEMS students.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Create, evolve, monitor, and develop a world-class Culture of Excellence strategy that focuses on developing the whole child by nurturing the inner genius.
  • Line manage members of the team (wellbeing, behaviour and futures) whilst leading on scholarships, centres of excellence that focus on a world-class co-curriculum offer including winter and summer camps.
  • Initiates innovation programme ideas and develop proposals for
  • Secures world-class outcomes for GEMS students.

 Compliance and Monitoring

  • Ensure that the Culture of Excellence is an organisational priority, through effective performance monitoring and management within the department and through wider leadership across the
  • Monitor, track, evaluate implementation programs across the GEMS
  • Develop QA systems and procedures that ensure timely reporting to the Board and its
  • Ensure that the GEMS family of schools are compliant with all applicable guidance, policies and mandates within the areas of responsibility.
  • Interpret all governmental statutes, regulations, transmittal notices and memorandums pertaining to the operations in the areas of responsibility in a manner consistent with the requirements of contractual agreements, laws, regulations, and Group expectations.
  • Ensure the coordinated and rigorous use of data and insights from service user feedback and practice to inform decision-making and continuously improve quality of student care and development.
  • Establish systems for periodic review of providers and partners.

 Operational and Commercial Excellence

  • Have the strategic oversight of (including agreeing and setting) of the five-year business plan and budget (to be set annually).
  • Identify commercial opportunities to provide services outside of The GEMS group that enhance provision.

 Stakeholder Engagement

  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including parents, staff, and regulatory bodies.
  • Secure strong partnerships with world-class experts.
  • Represent the organization at events and forums to enhance the brand’s visibility and reputation.
  • Inspire, coach, motivate colleagues across GEMS Educations by role-modelling GEMS core values consistently. Supporting the development of future GEMS leaders.

 

Skills

Qualifications

  • BA (Hons) in Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree is preferable

Experience

  • Extensive leadership experience within the education sector with impactful outcomes.
  • Proven track record in driving strategic initiatives and large-scale organizational improvements.
  • Deep understanding of frameworks/playbooks to secure consistencies across a large group of schools
  • Understanding of school operations, and regulatory requirements. 

Skills

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret complex data and inform decision-making.
  • Visionary leadership with a commitment to innovation and excellence.
